For my honeymoon back in the ’90s we visited the north rim of the Grand Canyon in late September. It was the blazing aspens, delicate yet flamboyant against the somber density of high-altitude evergreens in the late afternoon, that inspired this painting. Time has past and I can look back with fond nostalgia now.
