I started this painting the day the American election results came in. I was so distracted & upset I couldn’t accomplish anything. I calmed myself down by delving into the puzzle of a forest understorey I had photographed in Den Haag, Netherlands. Autumn crocuses cheerfully poked up from the tangle.
