A friend of a friend of a friend recommended I step in to help create the artwork for the Academy’s upcoming exhibit, which features the earth’s biomes. A biome is a geographical area with distinctive vegetation and animal life adapted to the prevailing conditions found there. Scientists plotted where the biomes are, and I created the map in Illustrator & Photoshop, which was printed on fabric, and wrapped around the spherical armature. It’s about 25′ in diameter, so the files were HUGE! It gave me the opportunity (not optional) to clean out my computer as I needed all the room I could muster. I’ve always loved working on science projects!
