Graphic Recording

When I tell people that I do graphic recording, most don’t know what it is. Here are a few snapshots of some of the 8-foot+ recordings I have done to help groups 1) sort out their differences 2) brain storm solutions 3) explain concepts. While the group carries on their meeting, I record important comments I hear on a gigantic piece of paper. Because I only listen, and have my back to the group, I can’t differentiate between a comment made by a CEO and a lowly peon who has something significant to contribute. Graphic Recording is a way to make visual the thoughts, ideas, complaints and comments that fly around during any group meeting. It helps participants 1) feel heard 2) remember the important bits 3) connect with each other as a group. It encourages participation and often results in happy breakthroughs. I love doing it, even if it is intense trying to get everything down.
