Sometimes, especially when traveling and one exists in a kind of bubble separate from the unfamiliar surroundings, an image burns itself into my mind. A second or two, and it becomes part of my personal library. This is one I painted after seeing this pair— a heron sitting atop a white horse—in Hawaii. The two seemed so amiable, coexisting peacefully.
